It is appalling that you should so conveniently trim my words for me. What I added to the above is: "The only exceptions are where there is a concrete plan to make a non-working driver into a working one." So, if you are volunteering to fix the driver, great. But there is no need to keep it around on the random chance that someone may someday fix it.
