Yes, I'm eco-realist, but I've never thought that in
the end we will have a solution. This is what I
believe is the answer to Fermi's Paradox, quite
frankly. It is quite clear that our government and
legal systems are not even remotely in step with the
environmental and societal changes...

would not some of those civilizations which collapsed
still have sent out some kind of signature for a brief
time and only one need have had a window to be
observed on earth...
also, perhaps the elitist population have infiltrated
governments and see this impending collapse as a means
to weed out the unfit while they prepare to survive
the next dark age and rebuild civilization according
to their parameters...
ummm, might be a possible scenario for a post
apocalypse novel...
