Oh, I should add: It may not be hugely relevant in this case because Violet is also quite a hard ribbon and the tradeoff is fairly even, but for other, easier ribbons it makes quite a big difference. I would always refrain from awarding myself, for example, a Cyan ribbon I qualified for if I didn't have Transparent yet and couldn't wrangle it on that occasion, because the conditions for Cyan are very easy to reach whereas Transparent is hard enough that I wouldn't want to give up the 7-day extension. ~qenya
