I don’t have any direct access to repeating firearms and not quick access to
some antique single shot bolt action 22 cal rifles.

I don’t want to have that as an option forcing me to think of perhaps better
options. Hope I never regret this but I have made it this far without needing
to shoot anyone.

I took my ccl, certificate is weird, technically good for life until I submit
it, then the expiration of the license starts countdown. I never submitted
because all your vehicle registrations pop up ccl driver. too many idiots drive
my vehicles. besides I still have too hot a temper to carry, so many people
would talk so much less if they were just trying to breath through their
sternum. plus in illinois it's hard to shoot a home invader, three things have
to align to give somebody breathing room in their chest cavity, you're better
off just snaring them and keeping a pet in the basement.

illinois foid has been ruled unconstitutional, but never to the point of
trashing it. it used to be good for 10 years and acted as a lawful photo ID,
now it's not and the renewals are weird. you used to be able to get one clean
at the age of 14, but now it's 21, younger you have to be sponsored and the
sponsor gets charged for any crime you commit..
ccl is a statewide license, 1 to 2 day course depending on your background.
without ccl, all magazines last i knew had to be transported empty of
ammunition. Chicago's handgun ban went up in flames when the ccl laws went in
effect.
there is an unconstitutional "assault weapon" ban on the books that also bans
"high capacity" magazines. the ban is currently ruled unconstitutional but is
still in effect pending the states appeal.

we don't have time to poke our cousins in illinois, because we are too busy
trying to figure out what rights we have, that and most of our cousins are meth
heads here.

pretty sure if everybody took a 23andme across the country, we would all find
closer cousins than we thought. lots of spring kneed wives and wandering
husband's in this place. you get into the urban areas where the generational
public housing is at its 5th, 6th, 7th generation of fatherless households, the
numbers probably make rural kentuckians cringe at the volume of familial
breeding going on.
redneck Feskus blushes at the thought.

China, with all its prior breeding restrictions probably had less of an
inbreeding problem since there weren't as many cousins floating around.

Had to look it up. You are right, I was wrong. Need a concealed carry
license which are issued by the Illinois State Police (the other ISP). Good
throughout the state including City of Chicago. And it appears that Illinois
does not recognize CCL’s from other states..

Looks like there might be a city ordinance on the books against high
capacity magazines which has not been tested and probably would not stand up.
I suspect the city might make it difficult to open a gun store within city
limits, but you would just need to go a few miles to find one, or to Wisconsin
or Indiana where you can probably buy howitzers and ICBMs

I think the FOID is just to own a firearm. I believe a permit is still
needed to carry one in public.

Are those the states where nobody noticed when they replaced Bo and Luke
with Coy and Vance?

As far as owning a gun in Chicago, I believe most of those rules are set
by the state. Illinois requires a FOID card. I’m not aware of any prohibition
against OWNING a gun in the City of Chicago. I don’t believe open carry is
allowed. Concealed carry is allowed with a FOID card but prohibited in
schools, bars and on CTA trains. Business owners can post a state approved
sign saying guns are not allowed in their establishment. Bars
(consumption-on-premises establishments) are required to post such a sign.

Try owning a gun in LA, Chicago, or NYC. When you're arrested and thrown
in jail I want to hear you cry "but it's a constitutional right".

Pretty sure all state allow gun ownership as it is a constitutional
