And it appears that Illinois does not recognize CCL’s from other states. Looks like there might be a city ordinance on the books against high capacity magazines which has not been tested and probably would not stand up. As far as owning a gun in Chicago, I believe most of those rules are set by the state. Illinois requires a FOID card. I’m not aware of any prohibition against OWNING a gun in the City of Chicago. I don’t believe open carry is allowed. Concealed carry is allowed with a FOID card but prohibited in schools, bars and on CTA trains. Business owners can post a state approved sign saying guns are not allowed in their establishment. Bars (consumption-on-premises establishments) are required to post such a sign.
