I'm Salvatore Carotenuto of Emthesis Development, an italian software
house and videogames company. We have created a new hardware platform
designed for the arcade market, and we are just selling it around the
world, in 18 countries.
The platform is called PlayON and (YES!!!) it's linux based. Due to
this, every software able to run on linux can run on our arcade platform
(the base system is a special reduced distro made by us, and derives
from a Slackware11). One of the topmost features of our arcade system is
that the games are easily replaceable because resides on normal usb
drives (the platform uses an usb drive also as main harddrive). The
other big feature is the low price, so we plan to sell from 3000 to 6000
units only in 2008, worldwide.
Have you ever thought to publish an arcade version of Wormux?? I've
played it and i found it very funny. And i was a fan of Worms still in
the old good days of the Amiga! ;) (Yes, I was an Amiga developer ;( )
We have a special agreement form that gives to the developer the 50% of
the net income deriving from selling the games. Keep in mind that every
copy of a game for PlayON platform can be sold from 150 to 800 euros
(the difference is made by the 'level' of the game and by the
destination market). The 50% of this amount goes to the developer.
