Same data just different field name. There would be no lasting damage unless you had hourRain, dayRain, weekRain monthRain, yearRain, stormRain or totalRain in you database schema. You would have noticed some temporary errors on pages if you were using tags such as $current.hourRain, $current.dayRain etc. I suspect few if any will have noticed let alone been adversely affected.
