I have reinstall b8 and now have both the old and new rain related entries
in weewx.conf
[[stormRain]][[hourRain]][[dayRain]][[weekRain]][[monthRain]][[yearRain]][[totalRain]]
[[rainevent]][[rainhour]][[rainday]][[rainweek]][[rainmonth]][[rainyear]][[raintotals]]
