Of coerce tightvnc is free, most stable software is...... I can't say how it will work on windows aside from win NT 4, where it works fine for me. As for the speed, It is a big improvement over VNC when you have a small pipe. I originally set up vnc on my ppp connection and dialed into my computer for some time before i switched to tightvnc, and the improvement was worth the effort. > Are these two separate products now, with 2 separate development paths > or does TightVNC take regular and integrate their "tight" protocol? Tight vnc is backwards compatable with vnc, it will detect the viewer and then use the regular protocol if the viewer does not support compression.
