Hi, I wasn't going to buy in on this one, but...
I have upgraded with my 4S and aren't seeing too many problems, well nothing that is making me want to roll back. If you're not sure about it, download the iOS7.1.2. ipsw file and you have 72 hours to test iOS8. If you don't like it, you can roll back to iOS7, as long as you do it within 72 hours of iOS8's release. The problem with the hole debate about apple and its bugs is that there are too many apple fan people who can never admit that apple does make mistakes and is probably going backwards in its commitment to accessibility. If this was a windows release, imagine the outcry then! There would be no one defending Microsoft, but for some reason Apple has managed to cultivate diehard followers that Microsoft and google would love to have. Cheers, Brett. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mary Otten Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2014 8:38 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: IOS 8 Released Amen! There is a huge difference between a few bugs, such as saying "screen locked" twice and having the system be so buggy that many people are not able to use it effectively. I really respect Neal and Sieghaird for pointing out these things. And I am really sick and tired of the folks who seem to think that it is okay for us to automatically expect to wait for several months before the major bugs are ironed out. Yes, we are a small market. But if somebody is going to cheer themselves on and say how great they are for accessibility, the bar needs to be a little higher than it apparently is for this realse. Apple is not your garden-variety developer. They are one of the richest corporations in the world. And they brag about how cool they are with their products for people with disabilities. You can't have it both ways. If you are a true leader, you lead by example, and that does not include leaving a bunch of bugs that have been reported and not acted on, which affect the use of the system in major ways.
