Hi, All:

Yes, Verizon is my carrier.

The phone number for the company store is a 1-800 number and I got a Verizon representative who was not at the company store.

She claimed that no one, not even Apple could put in a new battery. She said that if I wanted to do a trade-in and get a new iPhone 16E that there would be no charge for the 16E and that would still be good tomorrow, but getting there soon would be the thing to do. She said the company store I would go to has the color I want in stock. There's no way I could get there today and I'm having a very hard time believing I would pay nothing for a new phone. There's that battery seriously degraded message.

I checked the Apple site before I called Verizon and it looked like that, for an iPhone SE 2 trade-in, I might be able to get $50.00 off a new phone or a $45.00 gift card.

I think I should call the Apple store and at least talk to Apple. Has anyone heard of anything like the Verizon representative said?

Call your Verizon store, as I gather that is your carrier, and ask. The battery replacement might be under $100, which could give you a few more years with that phone. Or they can tell you what the trade-in possibilities are.

Good Morning:

I'd forgotten quite how  old my iPhone SE 2020 is until the thread about battery health and interest in the 16 E with a possible price increase prompted me to check and I got the SE 2 in November of 2021 and maximum capacity says 83%, but it says battery capacity seriously degraded. This is the battery that came with the phone and it is my first smart phone.  My land line is my main phone and I had hoped to have another year or two before a new iPhone.  I'm not in a metropolitan area and the nearest Apple store isn't convenient and is about an hour away.  The phone seems to be able to list nearby service locations for the battery problem, but I'm not getting it to work.  Can a local Verizon company store replace the battery?

Before I knew a new battery will be in order, with all the talk about a possible price increase, I had thought maybe I could trade in the SE 2 and get something off the purchase price.  Does anyone know if this still might be possible?

I'm late at the party, is it still possible to get or at least order a 16 E before the possible price increase tomorrow?

Many thanks,

Margaret
