Hello Margaret, You can go to any Apple Store and they can replace the battery in your iPhone SE for a fraction of the price of a new phone. Of course if you want to chat with Verizon about an iPhone 16E it won't hurt to ask what they can offer you or you can even ask if they had any iPhone SE 2023 in inventory and you might get a good deal on one. Remember you will have to get used to no home button and Face Id with the 16E whereas a SE 2023 would be the same as your current iPhone SE except of course it would have very good battery life again and you get the same processor which is in the iPhone 13/13 Pro. If you aren't worried about Apple Intelligence which at this stage is much more of a hype than it is actually useful, a SE 2023 may serve you well for some time, but of course a 16E will be supported longer and be more future proof and it will support Apple Intelligence once it actually is useful. I bought a 16 Pro in anticipation of a much better Siri experience, but I am deeply disappointed so far. Yes, you can have Siri integrate With Chat GPT, but otherwise I find especially in iOS 18.4 which failed to provide the next level of Apple Intelligence which was promised, Siri has been terrible. I will send another message with appropriate subject as I am curious if I am the only one having the issues I am having.
-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Margaret Thomas Sent: Tuesday, April 8, 2025 7:48 AM To: V iPhone list <[email protected]> Subject: Battery Health On SE 2 And 16 E Good Morning: I'd forgotten quite how old my iPhone SE 2020 is until the thread about battery health and interest in the 16 E with a possible price increase prompted me to check and I got the SE 2 in November of 2021 and maximum capacity says 83%, but it says battery capacity seriously degraded. This is the battery that came with the phone and it is my first smart phone. My land line is my main phone and I had hoped to have another year or two before a new iPhone. I'm not in a metropolitan area and the nearest Apple store isn't convenient and is about an hour away. The phone seems to be able to list nearby service locations for the battery problem, but I'm not getting it to work. Can a local Verizon company store replace the battery? Before I knew a new battery will be in order, with all the talk about a possible price increase, I had thought maybe I could trade in the SE 2 and get something off the purchase price. Does anyone know if this still might be possible? I'm late at the party, is it still possible to get or at least order a 16 E before the possible price increase tomorrow?
