Why does people always feel the need to jump into "panic mode" inmediately?? Java 6 is old, Java 6 is EOL. Java 7 is already mature and Java 8 is coming next. Java is always -to the degree of possibility- backwards compatible. I have run desktop Java apps which were coded at the time of Java 1.2 aka Java2 release and those run flawlessly. So, if there is any problem between AOO and Java 7, these issues should be addressed and bugs fixed, either in AOO code or in the Java 7 / OpenJDK JRE.
