For now, I'm using rsnapshot. I configured a separate config file, configured to retain snapshots up to 99999. Wrote an alias that performs the snapshot and edits a txt file for rev comments. The end result is excellent, but the frontend leaves a little to be desired. End result is, a space and time efficient complete snapshot of the source directory exists on the destination, each rev in a different subdirectory. A txt file exists at the top folder. So it's easy to look up comments for each rev, and it's easy to diff each rev, or read or restore any of the files in each rev. The only point to be desired is the fact that I had to create a separate conf file, and an alias or wrapper script to simplify the command line usage. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
