It was due to end support last June (2012), but they extended it. It's still under official support now until *2017* according to: https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/satellite/ They are replacing it with Cloudforms, but it was originally focused on cloud mgmt. They were adding in the features to manage bare metal. I do know that they employ a few devs who work on Foreman, including Ohad Levy. They are actively working on making Katelo the next management tool for RH. It's just taking a bit :) Best bet for more real info is to look at Katelo, and, in June, the RH Summit. They tend to announce their major plans there.
