Several have alluded to this, and I think this is what it comes down to.. Is it a storage server where it's somewhat highly available and you want to be able to change the fans or insert a new SAS/10g/whatever card or DIMM stick or whatever without having to remove it from the rack? That leans towards yes on CMA.
Or, is it a commodity node that you don't really care if it's down for 30-60 minutes, you don't need real time replacement of fans, you can tolerate the extra downtime trying to shove the thing back in, removal, disconnect, and all that jazz. That calls for none. We have some of both. (even with a CMA, getting things just right at the end of the CMA can be quite difficult. Fujitsu, for instance, just doesn't get the whole concept of how a CMA is supposed to work. You'd be better off poking yourself in the eye with a pointy object than their older model ones. The newer ones are slightly better but kind of gross, still. The dell 1U ones are not that bad. They have good retaining clips to keep things from bunching up and poking out and it's not difficult to add or remove a cable from as long as you pull out a bunch of machines above it to get access.
