For several years, I insisted on cable arms. But after our racks got more packed etc, I discovered that, for ME, they were more hassle than they're worth.
Cable management arms are great when you have to pull a server out while it's still connected or on. But in reality, how many times does that happen? For me, never. If I'm pulling a server out, it's because something in it has died, and I'm replacing a dim/cpu/disk/whatever. And for that, the power/etc needs to be unplugged anyway. It's easier for me to not deal with those stupid arms anymore. I am certain opinions on this will be split-- but just tossing mine in here. Let us know what you end up deciding! --kcb _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
