Hello, i do not know the fp2 phones but, on fifth edition phones, the maps
application has problems with talks. these problems were available with
previous version, continue on this version.
First, the screen icons has to be labeled again. because, talks reads focus
items as buttons. for example, on my c6-00, fw v40.21, maps version 3.4, i
have some problems like these.
there are some maps add-ons from nokia like traffic, realestate, food etc.
there is something called yemeksepeti in turkish maps. talks reads, key1
yemeksepeti, key2 more etc. If i change the yemeksepeti as focus using
object viewer, this time other icon labels change and the app becomes
unuseable.
the web application has also similar problems. i at first could not use
maps, now, i can use maps but it is limited. I succeeded labeling a control
as focus and i can click links now. But, on browser options, if i label the
items as focus, the other setting can not be used, talks starts not reading
the web content. for example, I go to google, talks does not read anything.
I open object viewer, label the controlgoogle as focus. the page becomes
usable. But when i click options, the items can not be used. when i run
object viewer and label the items as focus again, the previous label changes
and the web can not be used. if i label the options as name or different
label, this time i can not activate options items. for example, i press
options and there are homepage, settings, exit, save bookmark etc. I label
one of them as name, and i try to click, they can not be activated, nothing
happens, talks still reads 0 homepage, 1 find word when i navigate. the
items can not be activated, it even do not go out of options, it still reads
them always.
the other problem on c6-00 is, on homescreen. when i go to homescreen, talks
reads menu items. it says, calendar one of 12. But i am not in menu. I can
not hide the homescreen content. i select hide, it comes back when i press
options again. I did not have these problems on 5.23 version at least on
homescreen. again on web, when i press key1 for ok or yes, talks says
cancel or no, but the item i select is activated. talks confuses the
buttons. it says cancel but actually it is ok button, not cancel. again on
web again, most of the screen writings are accepted as middle. for example
when i download an app and installing, talks says, install, name ... size
.... middle provider etc. some of the things are read as middle label. I
would change these labels but, as i said before, changing these labels
affect the other labels and icons. so, i do not play with these much. By the
way, i want to suggest a feature. If we have 2 talks keys, it would be very
good, especially for qwerty touch slide phones. the talks key is menu key on
the screen, so, while using the keyboard, it sometimes becomes very hard to
use talks key. If we have 2 talks keys, one is menu key to use on portrait
mode, one on the keyboard to use on landscape mode, it would be really
great. I am sorry for this long email. I think i could clarify myself. I may
not explain everything exactly.

Subject: Re: [Talks] Latest talks and maps - the actual subject!
Hi Barry,
Hi Marcus, do you know if it's just me or is TALKS with Nokia OVI Maps
broken with the latest version of TALKS? I posted my experience at the
end of last week but haven't seen any responses to confirm either way.
I just verified with my E52, which tends to be very similar to the C5
firmware-wise, and there Maps seems to work fine. I also haven't heard any
negative comments about maps with this release yet (other than yours), so
for now I don't think there should be a problem.
The surest way to check would of course be to go back to the previous
release (5.20) temporarily, and see if that made a difference, or if it
was in fact the firmware update that changed things.
ciao marcus
