So if I upgraded to the latest talks on my e72 but continued to use the old
eloquence this configuration would not prevent speech during a call?
Secondly would I have to then press the key twice to read the symbol list or
is this only true if you are using the latest firmware?
Lastly does the new talks support maps as well as the previous version did
or are there some issues that a couple of users claimed a few days ago.
Oh yes currently the help system works very well with talks if I upgrade to
the latest talks will this be effected. I know I can roll back to the old
version if there are issues with the new version. I considered the talks
upgrade in the hope it might fix the no speech issue on the select radio
type screen.

Hi Bernard,
latest talks. I probably miss understood stephen when he was talking
about the old eloquence with the latest talks as I understood that using
the old eloquence with the latest talks prevented speech during calls.
Just to clarify - this statement is essentially true, but it only affects
Symbian^3 phones. There, the new version of TALKS and the 16kHz version of
Eloquence are both absolutely required to get speech on a call.
On other phones, where 8/11kHz Eloquence was good enough before, you can
chose whichever Eloquence works best for you (either 123 or 125).
As said before, when switching Eloquence versions, I would always suggest
starting at a volume factor of 100% (in Audio Settings), and only increase
it gradually to find which amount of distortion at higher factors is still
acceptable to you.
ciao marcus
