Actually the original intent of this discussion was with regard Twitter, which does have a character limit. How it deviated to text messages in general, I'll never fully understand.

I wrote few lines only when my husband said that the display still 160, and number 1 is in bracket which I didn't hear because I shut off the punctuation. When I wrote the 192 characters long text, I didn't ask my husband to look at my screen, but Talks says 102 2 which I assume the 2 is in bracket. So, I got the count down then, why it was 102 when the text was 192 characters, I'm not bother, as long as my message reaches to my recipient with no problem. If I mentioned of most people shortcuts their words when texting, because that's how I receive as often. In fact, I did the same, thinking that I only have limited characters to use. My phone is working fine, so I don't need any updates as yet!
