Be patient. Use additional rules/tools to catch the latest spammers

tempting target for the spammers (strong negative score), so that they
keep chomping at the bait.

Years of patiently tracking down addresses in headers, LARTing clueless ISPs, and reporting violators to whoever gives a rat's ass, did not result in any reduction in the volume of spam in my Inbox (and my co-workers', who rely on me to keep their inboxes as free of spam as can be managed). In fact, over all that time, the volume of spam increased 10-fold. The first time any significant progress was made, was when I installed SpamAssassin. Half a days' effort rendered the previous 6 years' effort a complete waste of time. My patience has run out. I don't LART anyone anymore. I don't complain about spam anymore. I just stop it with SpamAssassin. Job done, thank you very much, now on to the next task.

I am tired of trying to perform social engineering on sociopaths. My idealism is at an end. The "gated community" approach is working a lot better for us. If it looks sleazy, just keep it out. Done deal.
