ah no i was referring to corporate types who will only support the official
versions of anything. The last version of redhat to be verified is about 7.3
or so. I was not saying that redhat 7.3 was the issue persay but more that if
you were one of those corporate types that is stuck with redhat 7.3 and there
is no support for anything that doesn't come stock then the issue will become
redhat 7.3 since you will never be able to update your system and still get
support.
Yes perl is most likely the issue in your case and since you dont have any
other support isues to deal with simply updateing your install or compileing
a few new things for your box will most likely fix it all.
