Same here. I had some not so nice experiences with the CPAN module updating and installing all kinds of modules (and perl), which I didn't want. It also is only useful if you just have one computer. Distributing the same setup on multiple machines is much easier with RPM and something like yum or apt. > 1 word (for all feeling a need to choose between CPAN & RPM): > cpan2rpm.
