Now I've got SA working well (thanks NG!), I'd really like to do something to hit or at least cause some inconvenience to spammers, rather than just passively dump spam. Devin Carraway's Sugarplum spam poisoner look an interesting option, does anyone use it or have opinions on it, please?
"A Bad Idea." Anything that generates stupidly-based extra traffic with no legitimate purpose on the Internet is "A Bad Idea." Joe jobs are already bad enough.
If you have the bandwidth and if you really want to satisfy your ego, consider teergrubing/tar pitting using an appropriate MTA such as Exim 4, SA-Exim 3.0, Postfix 2.0 or suchlike.
I settle for smtp 550 refusals of spam topping a reasonably high SA score - after checking with my ISP that his having to put up with no-bounce-address messages was o.k. with him.
