Try just removing the '[' and ']' characters. I see nothing obviously
wrong, but if anything is going to cause a problem I guess it would be
the brackets.

No score at all, or simply a score less than your required_hits? I could
understand the latter if other tests were causing the overall score to
be marked down.

Subject: [SAtalk] starting scores (giving an initial score).

 Time for a feature request:

This isn't a biggie, but I'd like to be able to give SA an initial value where
to start the score counting; a simple way to "merge" different spamcatchers or
adding personal rules via procmail, by checking each e-mail with a base score
from the other [whatever]s.

Locally I'm making this an INIT_VALUE evalrule, but I thought it'd run it by
the list to see if anyone else would find this feature useful; in that case I
might a) sit back and relax while someone else makes it work, or b) do it right
and share it. =)

Turned out to be the missing `=~' in the above cited header FW_LOG rule

No score at all in some cases. But this also was a result of the
poorly formed `header FW_LOG' missing `=~' I think. I'm guessing an
error like that throws a monkey wrench into the whole config file
containing it. Can someone confirm that is correct?

That is, that a rule based on:
`header SOME_INDENTIFIER Subject /REGEX/'

with no `=~' or `!~' between Subject and /REGEX/ would cause
other rules in the config file to give unexpected results.

Subject: [SAtalk] How can I make spamassassin report line number or full line
 verbatim

Using body based rules like this one posted here a few days ago:
(It had a different name, which I've lost but the regex is the same)

  body Repeat_Any_Allcap /\b([A-Z]{3,})\b.*?\1/

My understaning was that it would notice the repeating of any string
of allcaps containing 3 or more chars, that occurred more than once on
a line.

I'm getting some false positives with it but can't identify where
the regex hit in the body. Only that it did is all that is reported.

How can I make spamassassin tell me exactly where it matched?. Maybe
tuck the whole matching line into a variable and include it along with
line number in the report or at least the line number in one of the
headers spamassasin inserts into a matching message.

I just filed 384 with this problem.

This isn't a permanent answer, but you can do:

perl -n -e 'if(/\b([a-Z]{3,}\b).*\1/) { print "$1 repeated: $_"; }' < message

It would be neat to have the SA report give line numbers next to the rule
descriptions. I like bug #384

Subject: [SAtalk] spamcheck.py and handling 4xx errors (like overquota mailboxes)

This is based in part on Bryan Fullerton's patch, but also fixes another
part of the code where large messages (naturally, the most likely ones
to be a problem for people going over quota) could bounce instead of
being deferred.

I also parameterized the TEMPFAIL exit code just in case, and did the
exit(1) locally instead of raising the SMTP error to match the logic in
both parts of the patch.

I haven't tested this yet, so caveat emptor, etc. The changes are
pretty minimal and should at least be no more broken than the existing
code.

Diff is against the 1.2 version from CVS.

I've also logged this as Bugzilla #385.

That's what I though, how to *attach* anything in bugzilla? I see
nowhere mention of such attachement.

I understood that it was not supposed to be dumped in the
"Description:" textarea, so what?

If you look at a bug in bugzilla, in the header info at the top of the ticket,
there's a link that says "Create an attachment". Click that, then follow the
directions.

I got the identical newsletter from "TheStockPlayers" at work where I have
the stock 2.20 from CPAN installed, and at home where I have the latest
2.21 from CVS installed.

Here's the result from 2.20:

X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=9.0 required=5.0
tests=DEAR_SOMEBODY,EXCUSE_3,EXCUSE_7,
    CLICK_BELOW,BIG_FONT,MAILTO_LINK,CLICK_HERE_LINK version=2.20

Here's the result from 2.21 current:

X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.5 required=5.0 tests=FROM_NAME_NO_SPACES
version=2.21

What happened to all the other tests? I've run "spamassassin -t -D" and
it appears the correct rules files are being loaded, and other messages
are getting tagged with other rules.

The message in question is attached.
