After being chided for not writing a song in the Tamil script it was very interesting to return to class the following week and inform my teacher that the Tamil song was in praise of Lord Ganesh and not Lord Skanda, as taught to us :) IME, _some_ carnatic music teachers were more rigid than the few hindustani music teachers i have met. Its a complete generalization since i have never met ALL the teachers that exist(ed). -- .
