I'd view someone throwing the money at me (or disrespectfully on the
table instead of a hand-hand transfer) as rude. Well, taking offence
is also relative and subjective so while the right hand sounds
sensible for some tasks, over time, it has come to the realm of
superstition than rationale. Wouldnt the germ(s) travel all over the
body? Examining the bug-ging issue a wee bit deeply, most of the
Indian rupee notes are so dirty, smelly and contaminated that its a
bug carrier symbolically handed over in the "right" way.

Taking the pseudo-scientific generalization further, the right
hemisphere (& the left hand) is associated with language. i find it
easier to keep the "chatusra nadai khanda jati ata tala" with my left
hand than the right, which tends to miss beats. Thankfully my teachers
never blown their fuse on this habit but i do wonder how language,
music, right brain and the unloved left hand are closely related.
