Hi, my name is Malcolm Lambert. I studied physics at UNSW and the only
subject I failed was Computer Science. 30 years later I'm working full-
time on this project, the success of which is entirely dependent on
computer science.

I worked in atmospheric science for a while then, whilst building a
house, I had the idea to scan a bunch of irregular-shaped rocks then
get some smart software to fit them together in the virtual word to
provide a 3D plan for building a structure in the real world. I might
have only one good idea in my life so I'm pushing this one to its, as
yet unknown, logical conclusion.

4 years ago I naively thought it would be good enough just to be an
inventor then 2 years ago I realised I'm an entrepreneur and now I
think I have to become a business man. I'm hoping I can get away
without ever having to wear a suit...is it possible or am I still
naive?

I started a company www.intresto.com.au which is just me and a couple
of smart software engineers working as contractors. I'm good at
project management but a hopeless programmer. I'm looking forward to
the day when I have some working software to sell or attract the
attention of investors. I've been going to Open Coffee in Sydney and
met lots of smart people. If the energy and ideas are anything to go
by, the Australian tech scene may hit the ground running at the end of
this recession.

I'd prefer to be strolling through the bush than sitting in front of a
computer, or at least have an office with a view of a place where I'd
like to be walking.
