and 1 error:

Are you running any form of port blocker because if you are this may well be
affecting it, ie firewall/ tcp wrappers etc etc??
Double check everything, and make sure you don't have address authentication

When I use -query localhost Xvnc just ends and the log file looks fine; no
reason for quitting.
I think AIX is doing something unusual. I've begun some testing on Solaris and
I don't have the same problems as with AIX.
I'll eventually find out what's up.

I'm a Unix guy who only uses NT at work because that's the company's strategic
choice. You know how that goes ;-)
Anyway, it is theoretically possible if the service is renamed. Somebody who
knows what to change and if the package has to be recompiled or if some tool

I haven't developed under Windows for a long time (ver. 3.2 ;-) ) but I
would be willing to bet that a lot of your questions could be answered by
loading it into Microsoft Developer Studio and poking around.

Agreed, stealing the focus is a bad idea but there are a couple of
applications on NT4 that can display on top without taking the focus. The Task
Manager and Exceed's Virtual Desktop are just two but I've seen others.
