Thanks for the help, guys. Have now finally got it to work.
I made the mistake of putting the AuthHosts value in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default] instead of where it should
be in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3]. Guess I shouldn't skim read

Where have you
Try tridia's release. I had the same problem with the AT&T release but
it works properly under Tridia.

Hi
Am having trouble getting the AuthHosts registry entry to work for me.
As it was not in the registry under
hkey_local_machine\software\orl\winvnc3\default, I added it in as a new
string, with a value of "?" to query all incoming connections. I'm not
getting a dialog to accept/reject connectio

Try something like "-:?192.169:" (Reject all, except for 192.169 - query

Ok, it's on my list now :-)
For Xvnc, there could be an new command line option like
-co

"OnlyPollOnEvent"=dword:0001
"AuthHosts"="?192.168"
If i'm trying to connect using another machine in the same subnet, shouldn't
VNC pop up a dialog box in 192.168.1.57 ?

Just started looking at this tool today and so far, fantastic.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way of notifying the user (i.e. the person
with the server) that someone (i.e. the person with the viewer) is looking
at their machine. Perhaps with a popup or a flashing systray icon?
