If your Web server is on port 5801, VNC expects your VNC server to be on

Run the KDM configuration utility (I forget what it's called ATM), you
should find an option there.

The protection that a "personal firewall" offers is slight, at best.
Considering that Windows will just let programss waltz all over each
other's RAM, nothing can really be called "secure" on Windows. What
really WILL enhance security is SSH. There's a windows client called

Hi all,
I have set up a router/firewall in front of a small network.
I want to vnc into one of my machines from outside the firewall via the web.
I set up the router/firewall as follows:
Port 5801 is forwarded to port 5800 on the machine I want to connect to

One other thing:
I realized some might take this as an advert or some kinda biz deal, but

I just wanted to let everyone know what I had (finally) accomplished.

Well after a little work with Resource Hacker, we have pretty much

There _are_ other free personal firewalls. Tiny Personal Firewall is

Assuming you are using inetd, edit the inetd.conf file and change the

Well, yes. That's why they specifically exclude NetMeeting & Friends in the

use a Microsoft application." If remote desktop viewing were a bigger
segment of the software market I'd expect this to be litigated, but it's
