Well, yes. That's why they specifically exclude NetMeeting & Friends in the EULA. Of course it's a double standard; it says "you can't do it unless you use a Microsoft application." If remote desktop viewing were a bigger segment of the software market I'd expect this to be litigated, but it's sort of a niche market.
It *would* be interesting to hear PCAnyWhere's take on this. Anyone tried emailing them pointing out the relevent section of the EULA, and seeing how they respond? -----Original Message----- From: Richard Harris [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, December 13, 2001 5:27 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Timeout Problem with XP - illegal?? > Nope, that doesn't work. Doesn't XP come with a cut down version of Terminal Server so you can <ahem> share you desktop with Tech Support? If MS are pushing the single use only line, doesn't that make remote XP support and Net Meeting somewhat of a double standard? Personnally, I can't see how this can be the case otherwise there would have been an almightly uproar from PcAnyway, Net Support, etc. Just by .02 euros.
