Sorry, but I have to advise strongly against this.
It is far easier to scan (and break!) a web app than it is to brute force SSH.
If you are going to allow any form of command line access to your
server at all, use SSH and nothing else.

re it's do-able, as long as you can boot from USB in the BIOS

the console (editing of files in /etc for instance) because I prefer
Vim over gedit (please, no flames on this... :P)
At the end of the day, as long as the system is secure and up to date,
its personal preference IMHO.

There have been issues with cPanel in the past and will probably be
more in future however I

them now run on Linux without too much effort as native applications,
not using WINE.
If all else fails, pay the $25 and get a copy of x-over. It's much

Consultancy on Shared Services and are pro open-source for their own
systems, I'm very interested to see if Open-Source

There would need to be legal documentation involved here. The other
issue is how Ubuntu-UK indemnifies itself against the volunteer

If you can't get a static IP, I've used DynDNS.com in the past

1) Use LDAP with replication instead of /etc/passwd
2) Rsync /home as part of a cronjob across all the servers
3) Ensure that you can run LDAP traffic across the VPN (If you;re not
already, try using openvpn - it rocks!).

One way to do it would be to run some sort of VM under windows (not
too sure how/where you'd get it from) and link the USB ports of the
windows machine to the windows VM.
