Yeah, I agree... displaying the date time in UTC doesn't seem quite
right to me either. Maybe they could give an option in the program
preferences? Ie, "Preferred Time zone"- and have it default to the
computer's time zone settings? That way if someone really wants to be
UTC, they could change i

Is that likely? Or is this a genuine bug that remains un

I checked too after the hal-info (i think?) update yesterday evening.
Still not working right for me either. I'm not blacklisting anything.
Using the brightness control applet has always worked fine, I believe.
The large jumps in brightness only occur when using the Fn+Up /Fn+Down

Firstly, sorry if the package is wrong. I think it is something
ndiswrapper related.
Second, I'm using amd64 Gutsy which is up to date. I'll attach the

Sorry I forgot to mention that when this happens, my wireless card stops
working and the system monitor applet turns all white, and stops working
as well. The computer will hang at the end of rebooting, forcing me to
press ctrl+alt+del to finish the restart of the computer.

Same here, chkdisk but no problem with Ubuntu 7.04 and the GParted
used in the installer.
IMO it's safe to use in Feisty and highly dangerous in anything older.

Same problem here when visiting meebo.com. I rm -rf'ed ~/.mozilla, apt-
get remove --purge'd flashplugin-nonfree, started Firefox, visited
YouTube to reinstall Flash, visited meebo.com, crashed. No extensions
except for the default Ubuntu one. YouTube works fine. The strace is

I've noticed this also, although the period where the desktop is
displayed before the locked/password prompt is far shorter for me- maybe
1 or 2 seconds at most. I also have a Dell laptop, but it's an Inspiron
