Same issue for me: I have a Digicom USB Wave 54 dongle, that uses the zd1211rw
driver, on Ubuntu 9.10 i386.
Even if my AP is just a meter away and in the line of sight, iwconfig reports
around 40/100 signal and 1 Mb/s rate.
BUT, it is actually going faster than this, because doing an ADSL speed
NetworkManager is not responsible for this, since the same bad "bit rate" and
"signal" values are visible with iwconfig.
I marked this bug affecting also the Linux Kernel directly (since the zd1211rw
driver is upstream).

Looks this issue has already been solved upstream:

I hope changes will be integrated in Ubuntu soon.

KDE4 Window Decorator Crashes with Compiz in Luci
Python crash with SIGSEV on my pc too. It happens with all OpenGL/GLUT
script. For example:
from OpenGL.GLUT import *
from OpenGL.GL import *
def init():
glClearColor(0,0,0,0)
glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION)
glLoadIdentity()
glOrtho(0,1,0,1,-1,1)
def display():

A friend of mine has the same problem with an Acer M460, which has a
type 12 partition (recovery) as /dev/sda1, which is deemed to be
"Windows Vista (loader)" by os-prober; instead, Windows's loader is in
/dev/sda2, which os-prober names "Windows Vista recovery". It should be
the opposite.

Binary package hint: totem
Totem (on Karmic i386) can not play audio for these WMV9 files:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/musicandvideo/hdvideo/contentshowcase.aspx
video works fine, but no audio. totem tries to find a codec without luck.
I also installed w32c

driver, and I can adjust brightness by clicking on the applet; using the
Fn keys doesn't produce any effect.
I hope this problem will soon be solved, because it's very annoying!

I forgot to say that I use Ubuntu Karmic 64 bit: I don't know if the
