After issuing the " cat /proc/asound/cards " command, I've found that my
usb skype phone was called *default* over my Intel ICH5 sound card.
I've put configured all my settings to use PulseAudio and test my usb
phone with Skype ,and it didn't gave any problem.

I have discovered that using Gnome-DO also causes some annoyances. When
Gnome-Do starts it takes a little less than half my screen space
(invisible). That means that drag-and-drop behaviour is changed or
ignored when draging a file to the lower part of my screen where the

loop where it's telling that it's checking... but never gets out.

the drive safely before ejecting, causing some error messages.

I have disabled the start of the avahi -daemon on startup for the time
being.
I think it has to do with avahi and Vmware conflicting.
I am not 100% sure as when Vmware starts alone everything is fine. When
only avahi is started everything is also fine. but when both start,

I have discovered that the evil that has been freezing my system isn't
vmware nor avahi itself rather it the bonjour in Pidgin who's the
culprit!
Everytime Pidgin starts... and my laptop establishes the connection with
the bonjour plugin of Pidgin on, the kernel freeze occur.

How about locking down users folders to them selves and use Samba to
deal with the shares? User's have a graphical tool anyway to easily
configure the sharing options of Samba. Maybe this could be a valid

You know.. I have no idea... I simply run the live-cd... try to change
fonts under the live user and it doesn't work... it only works when I
create a new user and switch to that.

OK here is the file containing what I found as you asked. Note: the last
two commands are non existent.
However I have noticed that suddenly the fonts can be changed after an
install! I will restart Gutsy in VMWare to see if it resets them
back

Everything seems to be alright now... but I do think that this is due to
the bad dpi recognition bug.

Sorry, I cannot currently do that due to time/low bandweight stuff...
But I'll check Tribe 5 out as soon as I can... Is the version of Pidgin
2.1.1 put into Tribe 5? If yes, could someone else experiment this with
a longer alias?

error if you try to connect to it through the "Printer Configurator"...
