I tested hibernate on the same laptop and I am *not* seeing this kind of
artefacts after resuming from hibernate on Ubuntu 11.10.
Thanks for staying on the ball.

Today this happend to me too. Here Ubuntu 11.04.
I figured out, that /etc/cups/printers.conf was empty, but there was a
copy located at
/etc/cups/printers.conf.0
So I just did as root:
cp /etc/cups/printers.conf.0 /etc/cups/printers.conf
restart cups
And everything was fine again.

With logrotate version 3.7.7-3ubuntu1 installed, I cannot reproduce this
bug.
Furthermore the mentioned code lines seems to have been changed
accordingly already.
I noticed, that logrotate deletes log files one day later than defined
by 'maxage', but this is a different problem I thin
table situation.
I had to kill the right process in a different shell to continue the upgrade.
On the next boot up I got the same message so I deinstalled clamav.
I use pam_mount to open my encrypted home partition.

So it seems to be rather a Gnome bug, not so?

I have a similar problem on my laptop, but my "white square" is below

So maybe this bug has nothing to do with the notification daemon?
