I encountered this while using dvd::rip, but it occurs outside of the
program just looking in Nautilus. After ejecting a disc and inserting a
new one, Nautilus still only displays the folder name from the previous
disc in /media/user/DISC_NAME. It doesn't display the contents

I've got this problem as well. Banshee reads the contents of the CD no problem,
but Nautilus gives the error above. More specifically, the error is:
Could not display "cdda://sr0/".

I've installed 11.04 on a separate partition and with my 4965 card I seem to be
running just fine in N mode (by default, out-of-the-box). I installed a few
hundred megs of updates with no trouble other than a couple few second pauses
(but that may well be more due to the repos than my connection

Regarding the compat-wireless packages - so if I were running Maverick
with a 2.6.35 (or whatever it is) kernel and an intel 4965, I could
install a compat-wireless package (for lucid, or 2.6.32/33/34) to
restore full 802.11n functionality (older wireless drivers replacing
newer ones in the kernel
Would it be possible to do a workaround by locking the kernel version to
a pre-problem version (kernel .34 or earlier)? Would that really wonk
out the upgrade process or would everything still hum along with an
earlier than default kernel version?

I had been using it for several weeks with the sisfb module in
/etc/modules with no adverse effects, save a slightly distorted image of
the ubuntu logo and loader bar on shutdown (but it's a framebuffer on a
widescreen, so I wasn't worried about that). Now it is back to the
original symptoms, even
I had added sisfb to /etc/modules, and it worked for a while, but lately
it's back to the old color distortion plus white lines (sisfb still in
/etc/modules). Any ideas?

I have this problem in Hardy Beta with an Intel 965GM video card (Intel
X3100).
I can reproduce the bug with multiple applications (MPlayer, VLC, Xine)
and multiple video types (FLV, AVI, OGM, MOV).
I'll try using the patch and seeing what that does.

Similar problems here on an AMD 1.8GHz w/ 1GB of RAM. It is definitely
only pronounced on scanned pdf files as opposed to searchable, copy-able
text (or maybe anything larger than 1MB). Scrolling down, the RAM usage
