Confirmed on Dell Inspiron 1525(n), currently at 2.6.24-12 on up-to-date Hardy Beta and iwl3945 version 1.2.0. Can't say anything about earlier 2.6.24 versions - my only other available kernel is 2.6.22-14. I followed instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/iwlwifi_Intel_3945_4965/gutsy and on the Debian wiki: http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi. Hardy is a wonderful piece of work! Very much looking forward to the Final Release.
