Yeah, just spent a long, long while debugging this problem to try to
allow local webdevelopment (that localhost address totally screws over
cookies) on firefox.
I'm now running firefox 3.0.6 in intrepid ibex, does anyone know of a

I've been using Flash 10 since the moment it became available, which I
think was even before Intrepid, so I don't think that this problem is
solved simply by 10 (I'm using flashplugin-nonfree:
10.0.15.3ubuntu1~intrepid1 and nspluginwrapper: 1.1.2-0ubuntu1 and the
problem has occurred more than once
I believe that I've found the source of this in a firefox extension
(autoHideStatusBar) which does something weird like use an extra
(usually invisible) firefox window to work. That'll teach me not to
file bugs that involve firefox while I still have extensions enabled for
it.
