The installation is a dist-upgrade from Dapper, there may be something
missing in my configuration that a clean Hardy install has set up.

Let it finish, you will get an error message - but it has actually
installed. Now add the line below to /etc/init.d/tomcat5.5 near the top

Unfortunately I switched to the "nvidia" driver since this bug. I can
confirm I haven't had this problem since upgrading to 7.10, but this is
tainted since I'm using the proprietory driver now.

I have the same problem. My card does not load the cx88-dvb as it used
to in Dapper and Edgy. At the moment I'm modprobing it each time i want
to watch TV, I havent had time to work out a more permanent solution
yet.
