The cube not working issue is a bug that has been reported a number of times: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktop-effects/+bug/82957 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/111058 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktop-effects/+bug/82957 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/113844 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktop-effects/+bug/102309 A workaround that doesn't involve installing gnome-compiz-manager can be found in this comment (although the manager is perfectly valid as well): https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktop-effects/+bug/82957/comments/17 There are a number of reasons the gnome manager is not available by default, most of which are regarding the fact users can really screw up their set-up with the advanced features available on it. The manager is great, but not suitable for novice users. It is assumed that users who want this sort of thing are able to install it themselves without difficulty. -- compiz cube only has one desktop enabled by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
