My problem appears to be related to pulseaudio... The installation is a dist-upgrade from Dapper, there may be something missing in my configuration that a clean Hardy install has set up.
The workaround for my problem was to go to: System -> Preferences -> Sound and change all the playback sinks from "PulseAudio Sound Server" to "ALSA". I will attach this to the pulseaudio project, if one exists. I will also attach those log files (xsession-errors etc) next time I'm on the affected machine. If I can give any other information about the files and settings on my machine to help track this down, please let me know. ** Also affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- music does not play https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/250568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
