exact same issue here. 1.5 TB device in external case. Problem doesn't
occur under Mac OS X, so it cannot be due to bad cable or bad power

I am not quite sure if I am suffering from this bug or #431812 . All I can say
is that it does not work out of the box (screen blanking just after the
isolinux splash of the LiveCD) and that it does work when adding i915.modeset=0

I wasn't able to put that boot option into place (like 99% of the
users), I wouldn't have been able to do any testing at all. In terms of

testing this patch, it is not working for me. However, i915.modeset=0

then restarted the system, it does not reset the proxy if you tell him to do

Why don't you remove the feature if there is no fix? It is bad for the whole

When my computer is automatically put to suspend mode (after 30 minutes
idle) and I wake it up again, it directly hibernates after I logged on
again. Then everything works fine, after my computer wakes up from
hibernation.

Actually I now have this problem with gutsy. When I insert a rewritable
CD, rhtyhmbox freezes as soon as I start to erase and burn that disc
with GnomeBaker or whatever.
