I don't think that incurring high startup cost associated with Python
interpreter and consuming 10M RAM *all the time* is too much cost for
providing that service.
Essentially I believe that new printer notification service must be re-

I rarely if ever print anything, yet on my fresh Karmic Koala
installation this applet consumes too much RAM. It's not even doing
anything (why is it there if I am not printing/configuring anything?)

Apologies, I missed the fact that it goes away, ughh... my bad.
Anyway I have two machines and one of them seems to have aptd "stuck"
while the other works as advertised - it goes away. I will try to figure
out the difference between the two and will open a new bug when I have
more data.
Thanks.

I talked to Gnome devs and it appears that evolution-data-server is not
really a part of Evolution, but rather a part of Gnome itself, but it
carries a somewhat obsolete and inaccurate name. It should probably be
called 'gnome-data-server', and yes, Gnome absolutely needs it.

On every Ubuntu machine parts of Evolution are always present and
impossible to get rid of, such as evolution-data-server and evolution-

Thank you for looking at it. Unfortunately I cannot add anything to the
bug: I don't have that hardware anymore - ended up replacing the laptop
with an identical one, but with Intel X3100 integrated graphics - I've
had enough of ATI.
Go ahead and close it: not only that video card was rare (and is
NO! This bug MUST NOT be closed, because it has nothing to do with Dell.
Bunch of people including myself have reported issues with Lenovo
laptops as well. And no, it should not be related to BIOS since a simple
reboot fixes the problem.

I found a workaround - I edited my /etc/modules to exclude all

It scales up to 2Ghz again, even after suspend/resume.
