Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: system-config-printer

I rarely if ever print anything, yet on my fresh Karmic Koala
installation this applet consumes too much RAM. It's not even doing
anything (why is it there if I am not printing/configuring anything?)

System Monitor reports that this applet eats a whopping 10MB of RAM,
that's 2nd most RAM-hungry process behind compiz. I do not think that
Python is an appropriate tool for implementing auxiliary daemons.

Shall it be rewritten in C? Or perhaps shut down when not needed?

** Affects: system-config-printer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
