Working great here - about 100 active accounts now on a small mail server,
SuSE 9.0. If your MTA uses spamd we found that the startup script for SuSE
8.2 located at http://devel-home.kde.org/~kmail/unsupported/spamd works
great.
We install only from cpan for SA on SuSE 9. No issues at all.

We were running SA2.6 on Rh7.3 here but only after we updated Perl to 5.6.1
(or was it 5.8 - don't remember offhand). We had no major issues once Perl
was done (couple script changes here and there and changing local.cf around)
- we have since moved to SuSE 9 Pro since RH is dropping 7.3 and 8.0

Try the Spamd script for SuSE at
http://devel-home.kde.org/~kmail/unsupported/spamd
This script allows for start/stop/restart/status under init.d
(the header says written for 8.0 but it works like a champ under 9.0 pro
too)

We went to SA 2.6 the day code went final, would never go back to 2.55.
Noticed a marked drop in scan times and reduced false positives and false
negatives immediately.

Same here - according to my logs and other records after changing to 2.6 our
FP rate dropped and our FN rate dropped which made co-workers happy but
overall the number of spams per day has risen roughly 45% over the last 3
months. Also we have smtpi blacklists in place and server connection

Absolutely true - they never want to clean up their lists - We are still
rejecting mail to accounts from spammers that were closed out seven years
ago.

SA is also file IO intensive. It
depends on your hard drive system for the file IO as well – using IDE or
SCSI or SAN? Hard or soft RAID? If hardware RAID what cache size
and what mode 0, 1, 5, 10, 50? What drive speed? Also depends on OS
choice and MTA.

I don't see why not however you would have to use the one with SA as

require that you maintain security on 2 systems (anti-relay, etc) as
