Greetings Mac,
Have you personally had success with this by chance? I inherited
maintenance of a system for a friend whose original installer went out of
business and this was their original approach as well however they and they
had used the 100 amp version (even though the system produces just 24
I know this might be a silly question but did you try unplugging the Cat5
cable to the Hub for a few seconds then plug back in? Update firmware with
newest Mate3 (not 3-s)? I had a reasonable amount of Mate3 swaps to the
newer 3-s but the Mate3 units I still serve are pretty reliable and the

You're observing this on all three controllers or is the reduced sell back

Did you calibrate the new controller while the PV breakers were all off? I

That's too bad the previous installer seemed to perhaps be thinking in the
right way originally but just was wrongly implemented. Perhaps treat it
like we used to with powerful hydro systems and add a couple 48v dump loads

Definitely appears that Midnite's new Powerflo batteries would be
applicable as well since it supports the Pylon protocol. Appears to be a
true game changer but have not received my first shipment yet for a full
review.

How large is the PV generation side relative to the typical daytime
consumption habits? Obviously selling to the grid is the preferred approach
but don't discount the effectiveness of utilizing HBX mode either. I've had
great success optimizing HBX mode on many of my sites in conjunction with

Great, thanks everyone. I'll source some Deoxit and make it happen! Kind of
looking forward to taking one of these apart after pressing the buttons a
couple thousand times over the last 2 decades.

Has anyone had any success or advice on how to replace the dying buttons on
old classic Mates? I still have many systems out there that have the issue
and replacing with a $500+ Mate3-s isn't a good option even if I could
easily find them or want to give the new owners of Outback my money. I was

Has anyone been able to acquire and use Midnite's new solution with their
AIO inverter by chance? MNSSR-600S-SS. I didn't realize it existed until
reading the inverter manual. Appears to be a very worthwhile solution to
the typical headaches involved with littering a roof with dozens of TS4's.

Just installed my first Rubix Stack'd 24v batteries yesterday. Max
recommended discharge to 20% is 25.5 vdc but the inverter LBCO is

legacy Outback systems. Will see how they do over time but in general Zonna

Good morning Dana,
In what manner do you mean? Are you seeking AC consumption data or
wondering something about a specific brand? The folks at Zonna have proven
to be knowledgeable if desiring to work with a distributor that knows their
offerings like AEE was known for.
Enjoy your Friday, Nick

Greetings Wrenches,
Perhaps I'm one of the few stuck with a handful of the Mate3-SL units that
was counting on Outback's promise that they would be upgraded for free once
the chips became available but that promise was not carried on to the new
owners. I believe most all of the Flexpower Radian pa
Hello Dana, what number is the best way to get a hold of Outback these
days? By chance does anyone know if they are updating the Mate3-SL light
versions to the full Opticsre friendly versions again like they promised
back with the previous owners?

Hello again Wrenches,
Some minor developments in this last week and figured I'd share my
experiences so others will be prepared and not stuck in the same situation
as myself. I was able to test this with a brand new out of the box Radian
and another new Powerflo 16 and had the exact same outcome.
I had two controllers on the same project stuck in silent mode as well back
in the 2019 era. Unfortunately they required replacement along with 5 more
in that time frame. For awhile I was scared to power them down once they
were working. Lots of free service calls for a while there. Shipping was

I recently encountered this on an installation I set up for a neighbor. The

until I installed the Envoy and set the grid profile. Jumped to 9 amps
almost immediately after commissioning with the Toolkit app. Northern

Greetings Wrenches,

I''ve got multiple Q.Cell 235 watt module sites with the same issue and

Hello Ron, I've got 9 systems that fall under this category. Beginning with

the solution and his passionate support services. Quite slick.

About a dozen of my sites are using Starlink to support Opticsre without
any sort of issue. Extremely stable compared to past strategies.

Another simple variable to rule out is external factors outside of the
Outback equipment. You already tested it out yourself so obviously the
generator battery is good but another issue that comes up from time to time
on my systems is the homeowner performing a manual run and then forgetting
