have one in front of me.

I have a couple of Tubus racks. Both are very nice, light, and sturdy. I
have a Vega on my daily commuter, a 650B Sam H, that used to live on my
Specialized Expedition touring bike until I replaced it with a stainless
Cosmo. They are solid racks. I've enjoyed my Vega for over 3 years.

Nobody has commented on either an orange OR a green touch-up color. Does
anyone else notice a similarity between the Sam colors and the Ibis colors
in this picture?

The VO site states that the skewers will fit 130-135mm. I am reasonably sure
they will meet your needs. I modified a 130mm Shimano rear hub to 135mm and
was able to use the original skewer with no problem. My skewers are silver
but the adjustable end cap is black. Matches my saddle, cables, rear ra
e decision that the Hillborne frame I bought
for her didn't fit. She's happy with her Bleriot.

How do you plan to get the belt on? That's the $64 question. (If you don't
know what a $64 question is you can Google it)

Yes, seat tube clamps are available that will accommodate a braze on
derailleur. You may have keyed "DT" instead of "ST".

I'm just imagining the mud everywhere. Including the rider. Nice editing.

When looking for a color match for the Hillborne green, the nail polish
color you're looking for is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear Ivy
League. You can find it at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, etc.
Here's a link to the product:

I've done a few multi-day camp tours on mine. I know that's not like going
cross-country but I tend to bring all the creature comforts of home along
with me, including tent, cot, folding camp chair and enough water to travel

I leave my fenders on my fendered bikes year-round. Not too much rain here
in the desert but my fendered bikes stay remarkably cleaner than my
non-fendered bikes.

handles nicely with 5-6 lbs of stuff up front. With full rear panniers and
sleeping stuff strapped to the Tubus, I have around 30-35 lbs of gear plus
my 170 lbs.

of my wheels that had too low tension. I also know that some rims are more
prone to that. To date I have NOT had that happen to any of my Sun CR18s or
Velocity Synergys. Everyone's mileage varies.

end vagueness you're

causing it. I hope someone else might shed a light.

Does TG really make a difference? I'll say no. The TG adds weight but in my
experience doesn't do anything for added flat protection. YMMV.
I'm fine with the basic Pasela, currently running 35's on my tour bike,
50-60 PSI with a full load on gravel roads.

Jim, I'll +1 your comment. That weird upward-sloping-top-tube Hillborne is
the nicest frame I've ever tour-pedaled. Wonderful bike. I still think it's
ugly.

Own both. Built up a 52 cm Hillborne but it turned out to be too long in the
top tube for my wife. Bought and built up a Bleriot and she's now quite
happy. In the mean time I was able to ride the Hillborne a couple of times
on my daily commute and took it for a 3 day dirt road camping tour this
sum
I have both. I recently commented, and it'll be in the archives.
