I am not sure it works quite like that. Dishless, or for most, "less dish",
allows all the rear spokes to fully/more fully support the wheel. On a
highly dished rear wheel (8/9/10+ speed), the drive side spokes are bearing
the brunt of the load. The left side spokes are really just centering the
I don't doubt that comparing bare rims, the Dyad might be stronger.
However, the Synergy OC is going to have significantly higher tension on the
left rear spokes, so as part of a built wheel I'd be surprised if it isn't
stronger.

IIRC correctly, the Bleriot tubing mimicked the Salutki's tubing. The SH is
somewhere between that and that Altantis, so it should be a bit stouter...

Howdy folks.
My personal belief is that putting the treatment on the bottom will soften
things up faster since more will soak into the leather. Maybe that is good
on a brand new Brooks, but once I'm in sustaining mode I only treat the
top...

I have one of the shiny chrome half lugged, half fillet brazed Nitto
threadless stems that RBW sold several years ago. It is about 9.5cm C-C, so
I'm guessing Nitto called it a 9cm. It is in excellent condition, no signs
of use really and certainly none of abuse. I would like to trad

I am thinking that the saddle/bar tape combo I was planning on using for an
upcoming build won't look that great after all. I have a used gray B.17

some wear to the gray finish, but the shape is great with no f

Ryan,
Some of the RBW bikes have braze-ons that match this rack. If they are
present, it is perhaps less fiddley to use the dedicated braze-ons rather
than the canti bosses. My dad's Saluki, for example, has the braze-ons for
the Mini and I would pick it over the M12.

Cool Bill :^) Those are Berthoud fenders, right? What tires and what size
do you have on there?
Thanks, Doug

If you have cantis the M12 is a very clean mount. Some RBW bikes have fork
braze-ons that allow mounting the Mini without any clamps. The RBW models
that have cantis and the braze-ons can use either rack very well, but I
would probably go with the Mini unless I had other plans for the mid-fork

Who is doing the custom Rivendells these days? It isn't still Mark
Nobilette, is it? My impression is that he is pretty busy with his bikes
and the Rene Hearse bikes...

Howdy folks.
Unless there has been some fairly recent and radical change, a Riv Custom
isn't really "custom". It is Grant's design for you, tweaked within limits
to your preferences. I know of at least one Custom from the Curt Goodrich
days that was built with braze-ons for centerpull brakes and
